The Kurdish Progeny — Book
Oct. 2018, after four years of writing stories inspired by the envirnonment I was surrounded. my best friend Ziyad Abdullah- which had been my number one fan and supporter since day one. sent me an Instagram post from Mrs. Ruwayda Mustafah’s page, about collecting Kurdish authors to be published in a compiled book. The idea thrilled me and I signed myself up without having a second thought.
I’m both happy and proud to share the news of today, in which the book is successfully published and ready to be ordered over amazon. and soon to be distributed all over the KRG to be found in bookstores. it’s worth mentioning that all sale profits go to the Orphanage of Erbil.
In this book, which consists of 41 authors and one Editor, each chapter is written by one author. we were given the limit of 5000 words, in addition to a biography, and a self-portrait along with each one of our Instagram usernames.
We can be easily looked up and asked questions about the stories we have written. your personal copy of the book can be signed by all of us on the launch party we intend on throwing — TBC.
Of course, the book is not only a 41 chapter long of short stories, but it’s also much more colorful, dramatic as well as tragic in holding much sorrow and hope towards our youth and the future of us Kurds. it contains many many pages of poetry, artistic illustrations, and short stories.
Although, it’s initially written in English, for the sole purpose of bringing the world internationally to read and understand it. however, it is planned to be translated over time.
The first edition ever to be published is without a doubt holding some typing mistakes, for it was not easy of a revision for Mrs. Ruwaydah — being the only editor. in the future, we will continue to correct any mistakes found in the typing and republish them as 2nd and etc, editions.
It was with great honors and pleasure to be a part of this great group of authors, all the thanks to Mrs. Ruwaydah for bringing us together to work on this amazing project. as well as every one of us who committed to making this a reality.
